Where We Come From
Mary Norman is NurseCom’s founder, sole owner, and president. Her background as an RN in hematology/oncology, home hospice, and home infusion is broad in scope. She is a telenurse pioneer; in practice since 1989.
NurseCom was not the result of an entrepreneurial endeavor or a concept scribbled on a napkin. It came to be because of a personal life challenge she met head on. This literal moment in her life was transformative! The company started as a solution with solutions as a home-based business, and has evolved into a national brand that serves not only the patient, but the healthcare colleagues who serve their community and their decision makers.
More than a business entity, NurseCom is a working mission and vision established by the founder and then built upon by the Team members who have come through its doors. Their motto is to serve and inspire, with intention. In its third decade the Team continues to foster a culture and support system that drives their excellence and hunger for diversifying services to pivot with the ever-changing healthcare landscape; and they are getting it right! NurseCom’s common sense, Team-created Core Values of Accountability, Excellence, Professionalism, and Respect are the pillars of NurseCom’s success. These values are spoken at every Team meeting, celebrated quarterly in each department, and exemplified in our daily work.
The NurseCom Team’s commitment to continuing education and professional development leads to the outcome all clinicians and healthcare leaders strive for: patients getting direction to the right level of care or provided with the instruction on the task at hand with the best results and cost-efficient outcome.
Client feedback often heard proved that when they invested in their staff through NurseCom services, they realized positive results that exceeded their expectations. Outsourcing telenurse services with NurseCom enhanced patient care, optimized resource allocation, and contributed to their overall organizational efficiency.
As Mary navigated her business through its growth, she remained mindful of her roots in nursing. Her insight about the complexities of the business of healthcare coupled with the art and science of a nurse’s practice is what has championed NurseCom to be a company known for its reputation of a comprehensive solution to safe, timely, expert, equitable, innovative, and efficient patient care. Rest assured.
